G. - Longevity compensation.
1.
Beginning with the first full pay period following the completion of the years of service as set out in subsection 2 of this section, each permanent, full-time employee or employee eligible for membership in the city of Revere and/or Commonwealth of Massachusetts contributory retirement system as provided for by clause six, paragraph two, section three of chapter thirty-two of the Massachusetts General Laws, under this division shall receive as an annual rate, in addition to the maximum salary provided for in the schedules set forth in Sections H through J, additional compensation as set out in this section.

Beginning with the tenth year of service a full-time employee as listed in Division 1, Table III schedules H through J shall receive five hundred dollars in additional compensation. Thereafter, the annual rate of compensation shall be increased by an additional one hundred dollars at the completion of each year of service through the fourteenth year of service.
Beginning with the fifteenth year of service and thereafter the annual rate of compensation shall be increased by an additional two hundred dollars at the completion of each year of service through the fortieth year of service.
The words "years of service," as used herein shall mean years of service as a member of the city of Revere and/or commonwealth of Massachusetts Contributory Retirement System.

Interruption of such employment for the purpose of performing military service shall not be deemed to break the continuity of service with the departments of the city under this division; provided, that no employment, other than military service, is entered into by the employee during the period of such interruption.

Interruption of such employment for superannuating retirement purposes shall not be deemed to break the continuity of years of service as used herein for purpose of calculation of the years of service of subsection (G) provided that said employee is enumerated in J. Schedule A-2-B of this division.

Payments for longevity shall be suspended to employees who fail to actually work during any consecutive thirty-day period, exclusive of vacation time.

For the purpose of calculation of years of service of the employees enumerated in schedules H. A-1 through J-A-2-B years of service as a member of the city of Revere and/or Commonwealth of Massachusetts contributory retirement system prior to being enumerated in the foregoing schedules shall be used to calculate the provisions of subsection (G) for persons currently enumerated in said schedules.
