All persons licensed to erect poles and fixtures and to construct conduits under the
provisions of this chapter shall first, before proceeding, give to the city an agreement
in writing, satisfactory to the mayor, saving the city harmless against any and all
claims for damages, costs, expenses or compensation for, or on account of, or in any
way growing out of, the erection, maintenance or use of such poles, conduits and fixtures
on or in such streets, or any act or omission of such persons, their agents or servants,
or in any manner arising from the rights or privileges granted them by the city.
