§ 2.54.050. Inspections.

  • The chief inspector, assistant inspectors or any member of the fire department designated, shall inspect, as often as may be necessary, but not less than four times a year, all specially hazardous manufacturing processes, oil storage terminals, public buildings, stores and other mercantile establishments, garages and gasoline filling stations, and places of public resort and assembly. All other buildings or premises shall be inspected where authorized by the General Laws as often as may be necessary, but not less than twice a year, for the purpose of enforcing all laws of the commonwealth, provisions of this revision, and other ordinances of the city, rules and regulations of the state department of public safety and all orders of the chief of the fire department, as relate to the prevention, extinguishment, cause, origin and circumstances of fires.
