§ 2.84.020. Composition—Appointment—Officers—Terms.

  • A.

    The council on elder affairs shall consist of eighteen members to be appointed by the mayor subject to the confirmation of the city council. Each member shall be a minimum of sixty years of age or over. Members shall be residents of the city, and shall serve for terms of three years.

    B.

    Members shall be appointed in the following manner:

    1.

    At-large with special consideration given to members of organized senior citizen groups.

    C.

    The members of the council on elder affairs shall elect their own officers for three years.

    D.

    Each member shall continue to serve after the expiration of his or her term until his or her successor has been appointed and has been duly qualified. Vacancies shall be filled for the period of the unexpired term in the same manner as original appointments.
