§ 5.45.030. Licenses.

  • A.

    License of Driver. No person shall drive, operate or have charge of a livery or limousine for pickup of a passenger in the city unless licensed to do so by the chief of police. The chief of police shall determine the qualifications necessary to obtain such license. The fee per license for a driver shall be thirty dollars.

    B.

    License for Vehicle. No person shall drive, operate or have charge of a livery or limousine unless such livery or limousine itself has a livery certificate. For any person or entity seeking such livery certificates, the cost shall be one hundred dollars per year for the first vehicle and fifty dollars per year for any additional vehicles. Such certificates shall expire after one year. For a person or entity with only one livery vehicle the license fee shall be fifty dollars.

    C.

    License Limitations. No person or entity who operates a taxicab service or has a taxicab license shall be entitled to any livery certificate unless such person or entity has a separate staff, and separate telephone line, for its livery service.
