§ 10.36.030. Location and construction.

  • The mayor is authorized and directed to install parking meters in the locations on streets designated in this chapter and plans referred to, or cause the same to be so installed. The meters shall be placed at intervals of not less than twenty feet and not less than six inches nor more than twenty-four inches from the face of the curb adjacent to individual meter spaces. The tops of the meters shall be between forty-six inches and fifty-six inches above the sidewalk. The metered spaces at all times must be clearly indicated by white pavement, marking shall not be less than twenty feet except where angle parking is permitted. Meters shall be so constructed as to display a signal showing legal parking upon the deposit of the proper coin of the United States as indicated by instructions on such meters and for such period of time as is or shall be indicated by the meter. Such signal shall remain in evidence until expiration of the parking period designated, at which time a dropping of a signal automatically or some other mechanical operation shall indicate expiration of such parking period.
